(1) The chlorine air consumption in the technical parameters of the filter element with a nominal air intake must exceed the nominal air intake of the corresponding engine.
(2) The filter material must meet the requirements for thickness, tensile strength, initial suction resistance, filtration accuracy, etc. An imported diesel engine requires an air filtration accuracy of 5 inches, while a domestic diesel engine must also be less than 20 inches. The filtration accuracy of HEPA filter paper is 2μm, that of ordinary imported filter paper is 30μm, and that of domestic filter paper is 80μm.
(3) Testing of filter elements for efficiency:
(1) Flow resistance testing (pressure drop) to measure the pressure loss of the air flow (flow resistance curve or flow pressure drop).
(2) The dust collection efficiency of the filter element can be calculated using the initial filtration efficiency test, and the dust removal rate of an ordinary filter element should be more than 99%.
(3) Dust accumulation in the filter element, caused by excessive dust blockage and air suction resistance, increased during the dust storage capacity test and cumulative efficiency test. If the engine power decreases by 5% or fuel consumption increases by 5%, then the suction resistance is at the limit value. Upon reaching this value, the filter element must be cleaned or replaced. During the test, the mass of accumulated ash when the suction resistance or pressure drop reaches 7-46 kPa represents the filter's capacity for dust storage, and the filtration efficiency during this test is the cumulative efficiency.
(4) The pressure difference at the inlet and outlet when nominal gas passes through the filter element must not exceed 3.2 kPa, and power decreases, while the engine emits black smoke.
